The Cook’s Community podcast is a place for us to share discussion. I want this space to be somewhere people can come for inspiration, to listen in on a conversation and hopefully learn something in the process.

I have four types of shows currently and am always looking to expand my offerings. You can read more about these below.

  • Cook N Goals

  • HDR Brews

  • Penne & Red Sauce - Nutrition explained

  • Today’s paper

The Cooks Community

In 2019 (before podcasts exploded) I wanted to remember the conversations I was having, Similar to how instagram is a highlight reel of an individuals best-self, where you can look back at the cool things you have done with your friends and family, I wanted to have a place where I could store the cool conversations I was having with professionals and those I look up to.

I have learnt an exceptional amount from my guests, and often play back episodes (not to critique myslef) but remember where I was at that time in my life, reflect, and learn again the lessons these intersting people have taught me.

The Cook’s Community is somewhat of a network where I post all my podcast episodes which are specififed into four specific shows by their title and image.

Cook ‘N’ Goals:

This show interviews motivated people who are following their passion.
Guests have included Ed Hatcher from Alfreds Apartment, Josh Murchie from Little Phil, and William Russell from the Rumble Pack Podcast.

HDR Brews:

This small show is designed for academics to put their research interests in the spotlight. Please sit, learn, and enjoy a cuppa while we do to. I speak to academics about their area of research.
Guests have included Professor Ben Desbrow, Associate Professor Greg Cox, and Dr Jorja Collins.

Penne & Red Sauce:

Join Accredited Practicing Dietitian and Accredited Sports Dietitian Nathan Cook as he explores an area of exercise science or sports nutrition.
Topics have included nutrition strategies to support muscle protein syntheis, and individual strategies to monitor hydration status.

Today’s Paper

Dr Nathan Cook collect a series of papers focussed on the same topic each month. Each paper is discussed individually and communicated in under 10 minutes. This is his version of bite sized science, with a focus on communicating the complex nature of peer-reviewed journal articles into simple conversation.

More episodes to come, enjoy. You can find it on Spotify & Apple Music.
