Running Coaching
From a history of playing AFL and participating in Surf Life Saving as a young person I grew an appraication for the importance of staying fit and healthy through the activity of running.
In 2021 I reignited this passion by joining a run club and found a new love for the sport. I am passionate about running because of its capability to support a healthy lifestyle, provide the feeling of accomplishment, and create the feeling of community.
During the first half of 2024 I completed my Level 1 and 2 recreational run coaching courses through Athletics Australia to persue this interest in a professional capacity. I am eager to share what I have learnt about running with individuals and groups, and continue to grow my experience in this fantastic sport.
I also post specific running workouts such as hills, speed, track, fartleks, tempos, thresholds, including instructions on how and why to perform these.
You can find out more about the
running coaching I provide below.
MIAMI MILERS TRACK CLUB
Miami MIlers Club (MMC) is the name of my running coaching brand and is what I use to decipher between my academic (Dr Nathan Cook) and running coaching actvities. It is an individual one to one coaching service run by myself from my laptop with the aspiration to one day have a training group on the Gold Coast.
The greater purpose of MMC is to make running fun and cool.
My coaching philosophy is to provide runners with a trusted experience that is ultimately going to make them a better runner on the track, and a better person off. I aim to demonstrate this through leadership and kindness that reflects an exciting running environment to improve ones self.
If this sounds like something you would like to be a part of, please contact me.
I am currently taking on athletes.
Workouts
I really enjoy writing workouts and giving them ago myself based on my current level of fitness. I am going to try posting workouts with an explanation as to why they are programmed in the future as regurlarly as possible. Stay tuned for where these will appear. I will update this page when I know. For now, you can follow me and the group on Strava, or see a taste tester on the right.
This is a famous workout completed by many of Australia’s top running groups. Simple, but effective.
